What is supervision?
Supervision provides an opportunity for the counselors and therapists to capture the essence of psychotherapeutic process as it is articulated and modeled by supervisor, and to recreate it in counseling relationship.

 
What are its purposes, tasks and functions?
Supervision is a formal, professional relationship between supervisee and supervisor.

The purpose of supervision is the professional development of and the welfare of clients.

Supervision is not counseling or psychotherapy.

Supervision is primarily an educational process focused on the learning of the supervisee.

Supervisors enable supervisees find their way of being counselors. The relationship in supervision is made up of a number of roles, not one, and good supervisors are able to provide a multiplicity of roles with supervisees.
 
Knowledge and skills of a good supervisor

Bad or poor supervision exists due to large number of not properly trained supervisors available. Supervision is primarily an educational process focused on the learning of the supervisee. Therefore supervisors require training in supervision. An effective supervisor structures supervision according to the learning of supervisee using the counseling role and is flexible across roles to adapt to individual differences in supervisees.

Meera has a well established private practice. She regularly runs group and individual supervision sessions.

Costs for individual supervision are £45/- per 50 min. session Costs for group supervision are negotiable.
