CENTRE FOR TRANSPERSONAL STUDIES
(A centre for Unity within Diversity - The Universe is but one family)

The whole human race, knowingly or unknowingly, is living at present in a global age, though collectively but not lovingly.

Psychological understanding which has developed without any appreciation of our 'True Nature' fails to free our heart. Great unrest is noticeable in the world. Its root cause is the disunity in thoughts and actions of mankind. In order to remove all misunderstandings and foster a genuine feeling of universal human unity, spiritual, mental and material, it is important to change course of current education system. The current education system which is based on materialism and creates dependency is disempowering the entire human race. A true education is one which allows learners to be absolutely independent in investigating the Truth for themselves.

This course is about learning a method of 'enquiry into self'. It is about knowledge of Self, which all the world scriptures talk about. This course is a collection of insights, ideas and experiential knowledge of many diverse world spiritual and esoteric traditions integrated to advance current use of psychological understanding of human potentials. Instead of being burdened by intellectual information, which eventually leads to materialism, this course guides you through the journey of transformation to your own centre of 'Being'. It is about learning to develop a relationship with yourself, trusting and respecting yourself as you are and not depending on others' approval for your self esteem. It is about heightening your awareness of the unfolding nature of self.

Unlike other counselling and psychotherapy courses, where you are taught skills to counsel others without much use of experience of 'self', here you learn to become your own counsellor and thus facilitate this growth in others by 'Being' and accepting yourself in the true sense.

This course is a combination of both psychology and a study of consciousness (light within). It is a study of west and east, mind and heart, spirit and matter and moreover a journey into self-discovery of our True (divine) nature. This course is about learning to establish a harmonious relationship between head and heart in order to live in harmony with rest of mankind by enriching our lives with love and peace and be able to live a life of joy of being 'alive' in totality. This course is not about achieving professional success; instead it is a call for 'Awakening' to your full potential Transpersonal psychology is popular as a method of approaching spirituality. But the psyche is only a part of the self, whereas spirituality transcends the self-imposed limitations of traditional and transpersonal psychology, because it takes one outside the realms of the ego - taking the role of witness rather than that of the participant. It is about making a connection between oneself and the universe, overcoming the boundaries and limitations of the particular and knowing that we are individuals only in a Universal sense and not in a particular sense. It is about learning to feel comfortable with difference instead of feeling threatened by it.

The difference which separates us when we understand the nature of diversity, like Jung, Maslow and Reich in the West have tried to work with, in the form of conscious and unconscious, then diversity or difference is not perceived as a threat. Rather we develop a sense of compassion towards being one with it. We develop a yearning to dissolve this separateness, or sense of individuality in order to feel complete. Each system of world philosophy and spirituality claims that there is an eternal centre of consciousness in man, and that realisation of this centre or Self, is the goal of life. The experience of pain is due to man's failure to realise his true nature or Self.

All the sciences related to life are included within the scope of this course. It integrates into one all the discoveries that have been made in the physical, psychological and spiritual realms.

In conclusion, this course is about that - any expansion is life, all contraction is death. All love is expansion (consciousness); all selfishness is contraction (unconscious). Love is therefore the only law underlying all life.

Universal peace can only be established on the sure foundation of spiritual humanism and the political machinery be universally spiritualised as a whole.

"This is the knowledge of self (transpersonal), through this, you will learn, you will discover, and you will get in touch with that which is within you."

Two divided by nothing = unity, love & truth.

Chakras are psychic centers in the body that are active at all times, whether we are conscious of them or not. Energy moves through the chakras to produce different psychic states. Modern biological science explains this as the chemical changes produced by the endocrine glands, ductless glands whose secretions mix into the body's bloodstream directly and instantaneously. Ancient philosophers of the East related those changes with the five basic tattvas, or elements - earth, water, fire, air and akasha (ether). These elements are constantly coming and going with circadian rhythms inside the body. The ancient science of Yoga therefore laid great emphasis on knowing these elements and working accordingly, for the chakras are understood as the playground of the elements.

Knowledge about the chakras can be valuable key to introspection. It is possible to observe oneself and see energy moving through the various psychic centers. Traditional writings mention 88,000 Chakras. Most of these chakras are extremely small and only have a minor role to play in the energy system. The main focus remains on the seven primary chakras, which are located along a central vertical axis at the front of the body, are of such relevance for the functioning of the most important and fundamental aspects of the human body mind and soul. Here you will find a description of the spiritual and mental characteristics assigned to each chakra, which area of the body they influence, how they are affected by blockages, and much, much more. Chakras cannot be described fully from a materialistic or physiological standpoint or any other physical science. Chakras are centers of activity of subtle, vital force termed sukshma prana (Subtle Prana); They are interrelated with parasympathetic, sympathetic, and autonomous nervous system, and thus the gross body is related to them. The connection between the gross and the subtle human organism is through intermediate conductors that are connected with the sense organs and the work organs. Through yoga one trains both types of organs to adopt a discipline and to help the body become a true asset, and create coordination between the right and left sides of the body, which normally do not coordinate, but rather alternate. The chakra yoga specifically covers this aspect of human nature.

In order to experience wholeness and creativity, knowledge, strength, love and bliss; this entails the chakras have to be open and work together harmoniously. This is the case with very few people. As a rule, the individual chakras are activated at different degrees, especially the two lower ones. There also exists every conceivable combination of open, blocked or one-sidedly active chakras. These states also undergo change during the course of a lifetime, since basic themes are always moving to the foreground and withdrawing again. For this reason knowledge of the chakras can be of immeasurable help in getting to know yourself, can guide you in the realisation of your inherent potential and enable you to live a life full of abundance and joy.
