Transpersonal studies explicitly
recognise the spiritual dimension to people's lives. Currently CFTS is running four courses: Introduction, Certificate and at Diploma level. We welcome anyone who values peace and happiness more than everyday comforts of life, as transpersonal work requires total dedication to 'Self'.
All our transpersonal courses are accredited with (Awarding body) NCFE. They offer a collection of insights, ideas and experiential
knowledge of many diverse world spiritual and esoteric traditions
integrated to advance current use of psychological understanding
of human potentials.
Unlike other counselling and psychotherapy courses where people
are taught skills to counsel others without much use or experience
of 'self', here one must learn to become a counsellor to oneself
and thus facilitate growth in others by 'being' a counsellor
in the true sense. Instead of being burdened by intellectual
information, which eventually leads to materialism, people are
guided through journeys of transformation to their own centres
of 'being'. Read the testimonials of students here.
Although transpersonal psychology is popular as a method of
approaching spirituality, the psyche is only a part of the self.
Spirituality transcends the self-imposed limitations of traditional
and transpersonal psychology because it takes one outside the
realms of ego, taking the role of witness rather than that of
the participant. It is about making a connection between oneself
and the universe, overcoming the boundaries and limitations
of the particular and knowing that we are individuals only in
the universal sense and not in the particular.
The courses combine both psychology and a study of consciousness
(light within). There is a study of west and east, mind and
heart, spirit and matter and, moreover, a journey into self-discovery
of our True (divine) nature. Attendance at CTS is about learning
to establish a harmonious relationship between head and heart
in order to live in harmony with the rest of humankind by enriching
our lives with love and peace, and being able to live a life
of joy through being 'alive' in totality. The courses are not
about achieving professional success; instead they call for
'awakening' to our full potentials.
